Aptitude Overview

The 30-minute aptitude block mixes quantitative aptitude, English and reasoning. Treat it as a speed-and-selection test rather than a mathematics exam.

Default split when no weightage is provided

Prepare as if there may be roughly equal questions from:

quantitative aptitude;
English/verbal ability;
logical reasoning.

The actual split can vary. The method is the same: take easy marks in the first pass, then return to calculation-heavy questions.

Best solving order

Direct arithmetic, grammar-rule and basic series questions.
Ratios, percentages, basic directions and syllogisms.
Time/work, time/speed, reading comprehension and arrangements.
Data interpretation or lengthy puzzles only if time remains.

The 45-second decision

At 45 seconds, ask: "Do I have a concrete next operation?" If yes, finish. If not, mark and move. Thinking harder without a method is the most common source of time loss.
